MAUD, Okla.— One Oklahoma town is reeling after a former public official allegedly used social media to put the city’s “dirty laundry” on display.

Former Maud Police Chief James T. Bottoms took to Facebook last week as a way to state his grievances with the mayor, along with quitting his job.

In his post, the former chief said it was ‘with deep regret’ that he was resigning but goes on to say the mayor of Maud wasn’t always being truthful.

In addition to personal complaints, the message spoke about problems with the city’s water system.

Bottoms says he took to Facebook because it was time the town knew what was happening behind the scenes.
